SUTTER COUNTY, Calif. — A man armed with a gun accused of leaving a threatening note at a Sutter County family’s home is now in custody.

The investigation started Monday night after deputies responded to a call in Live Oak for someone with a gun. The person who called deputies reported their Ring camera captured an unknown man holding a gun at their door before leaving a threatening note.

Investigators identified the suspect as 29-year-old Javier Arteaga-Tinoco Wednesday and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Deputies responded to his reported location Thursday and set up a perimeter around the house before calling out to him. He exited the home five minutes later and was taken into custody.

He was taken to the Sutter County Jail and booked on suspicion of attempted criminal threats and carrying a concealed weapon. His bond was set at $50,000 and he’ll appear in court Monday at 3 p.m.
