SACRAMENTO, Calif. — More than two years after 19-year-old Sarayah Redmond was shot and killed at a Natomas apartment, a person in now in custody for her death.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, an arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for 20-year-old Treace Palmer.
Police say Palmer was already in the custody of Washoe County, Nevada, on unrelated charges at the time of his arrest in this case.
He is still in Nevada but will be extradited back to Sacramento.
Sarayah Redmond was at the Stonecreek Apartment complex on Sept. 25, 2020. She was watching a movie when someone fired into the unit killing her.
Her mother Jennifer told ABC10 in Jan. 2021 that Sarayah had dreams of going to beauty school and one day opening her own business.
