TURLOCK, Calif — Police officers have arrested a man for allegedly stabbing another man to death following a road rage incident, according to the Turlock Police Department.
On Friday around 10:30 pm, officers responded to reports of a stabbing at the 2400 block of West Monte Vista Avenue. Officers located 49-year-old Enrique Gomez stabbed. First aid was administered, but Gomez died at the scene.
Ahmad Abweny, a 28-year-old Modesto resident, was arrested on murder charges hours after allegedly killing Gomez, police said.
The stabbing allegedly escalated from an argument the two men got into from a road rage incident at a nearby apartment complex, according to police.
Turlock police said they were able to use witness statements and collected evidence and were able to quickly arrest Abweny with help from Modesto police officers.
Abweny was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center. He is facing murder charges, police say.
