YUBA CITY, Calif. — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a sedan Monday night in Yuba City, authorities said.
Around 8:15 p.m., officers responded to the crash near Bridge and Plumas streets and located a 72-year-old man with critical injuries, according to the Yuba City Police Department.
First responders provided medical attention and took him to the hospital, but he was later pronounced dead, police said.
The 22-year-old male driver of the vehicle, a white Lexus ES 300h, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said.
“At this time, impairment does not appear to be a factor, however, the investigation is ongoing,” the department said.
