Man dies after Upper Land Park shooting

A total of four shootings happened over 24 hours leaving two people dead and two others injured.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man shot on 5th Street in Upper Land Park Sunday morning has died.

The Sacramento Police Department confirmed the death Monday and said the victim was an 18-year-old man.

The shooting happened on the 2700 block of 5th Street just before noon.

The deadly shooting was one in a series of shootings across the Sacramento area in 24 hours.

SHOOTING #1

The first of four unrelated shootings happened in Arden Arcade around 10 p.m. Saturday. The man was alive Sunday morning, but deputies are treating the shooting as a homicide due to his condition.

SHOOTING #2

The second of four unrelated shootings happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on the 100 block of K Street. The man was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

SHOOTING #3

The third of four unrelated shootings happened around noon Sunday along the 2700 block of 5th Street in Upper Land Park. The 18-year-old victim was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries, police said Monday.

SHOOTING #4

The fourth of four unrelated shootings happened in Old North Sacramento around 2 p.m. Sunday on the 400 block of Arden Way. A man was found with one gunshot wound and he ultimately died.
