Man in critical condition after Ceres single-vehicle accident

Police say their preliminary investigation shows the driver was trying to pass multiple vehicles when he went off the road and his SUV overturned.
The Ceres Police Department says they were called to the 2700 block of Roeding Road about a home invasion robbery around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

CERES, Calif. — A 31-year-old man is in critical condition after a rollover crash on the Fourth of July.

According to the Ceres Police Department, it happened around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hatch Road and Eastgate Boulevard.

Upon arrival police found an overturned silver CRV and a 31-year-old man inside had major injuries.

He was taken to the hospital where he’s listed in critical condition. He has not been identified yet.

Police say their preliminary investigation shows the driver was going west on Hatch Road when he tried to pass multiple vehicles on the right-hand side of the road. He lost control of his vehicle and it overturned after going off the road.

It’s unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash. Anyone who witnessed the crash can call Ofc. Michael Ferreira at 209-538-5700, ext. 1038.
