Man in custody after South Lake Tahoe shooting leaves another man in critical condition

The events leading up to the shooting are under investigation.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — A South Lake Tahoe man is in custody after a shooting left another man in critical condition Tuesday morning.

According to the South Lake Tahoe Police Department, it happened just before 6 a.m. on the 2300 block of Eloise Avenue.

Upon arrival officers found a 32-year-old man with a head wound from blunt force trauma near the intersection of Eloise and Tahoe Keys Boulevard. He was taken to the hospital and has since been released.

Officers then found 28-year-old Christopher Guzman on Eloise Avenue, and he was detained. Another man, age 41, was found with multiple gunshot wounds and he was flown to a hospital in Reno in critical condition.

Guzman was arrested on suspicion of two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and is at the El Dorado County Jail without bail.

The events leading up to the shooting are under investigation. Officers said there is no risk to the public.
