Man hit, killed on Highway 160 in Sacramento

Officers say a 33-year-old man was driving a GMC SUV when he saw a black object in the southbound lane and felt his passenger mirror hit it.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol is investigating after a man was hit and killed Tuesday night in Sacramento.

According to CHP, it happened around 9:40 p.m. on Highway 160, north of Scribner Road.

Officers say a 33-year-old man was driving a GMC SUV when he saw a black object in the southbound lane and felt his passenger mirror hit it.

The driver stopped, got out of his car and saw an unconscious man lying in the road. The driver and a passerby called 911 and started CPR.

CHP says the man was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. He did not have any identification on him.
