SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for murder, the Nevada County District Attorney's Office announced.
Officials said Michael Stine was convicted back on Oct. 5 for murder in the first degree. On June 10, he was sentenced to 25 years to life. It comes after a multi-week trial in the fall of 2023.
The district attorney's office said Stine was arrested after Shelby Comeaux II was found mortally wounded with knife injuries in October 2020.
Among the evidence included during the trial was an eyewitness account and cell phone audio footage that caught portions of what happened.
