The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said deputies received a call regarding a shooting around 6 p.m. on 16th street in Rio Linda and that the suspect took off in a vehicle.

According to the sheriff's office, a woman took her boyfriend to visit her ex-boyfriend for an unknown reason and the two men start fighting. The woman's current boyfriend pulled out a gun and attempted to shoot at her ex-boyfriend.

The man ends up shooting at his girlfriend in the ankle and they leave the area in their vehicle.

The woman was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries after the boyfriend was detained. No one else was injured, the sheriff's office said.
