Man shot in torso in south Sacramento

The sheriff's office says the man is breathing, conscious and talking to deputies.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Thursday morning in south Sacramento after a man was shot in the torso.

Sheriff's office spokesman Sgt. Amar Gandhi says the shooting happened around 9:45 a.m. on the 2300 block of 23rd Avenue.

He says a man was shot in the chest and taken to the hospital. The man is breathing, conscious and talking to deputies, Gandhi says.

No suspect information is available yet, he says.
