MARYSVILLE, Calif. — Two men accused of putting a skimming device at a Walmart in Linda were arrested Wednesday in Sacramento, according to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation started on Valentine’s Day when an employee found a skimming device at a checkout terminal.
Deputies reviewed surveillance footage and saw two people enter the store on February 11 to install the skimmer at the self-checkout line. Footage caught their vehicle and license plate number.
The suspect vehicle was caught by a Flock camera February 22 near the Dollar General on McGowan Parkway.
According to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, another card skimmer was found at the dollar store.
A search warrant was executed Wednesday morning on the 3400 block of Mayfair Drive in Sacramento and the two suspects were arrested.
The sheriff’s office identified them as 39-year-old Robert Wisek and 28-year-old Alexandru Capatina. Both were booked on suspicion of burglary.
