MERCED COUNTY, Calif. — A search and rescue team found a body matching the description of a missing teen along the Merced River Sunday afternoon.
According to the Merced County Sheriff's Office, the body matches the description of Jagdeep Singh Riar, but authorities haven't made a positive identification at this time.
The body was found about a mile downstream from Hagaman Park around 4:15 p.m.
Deputies expect the body to be identified in the next few days.
"Our thoughts are with his family. We know it has not been an easy week, however, we hope to provide closure to the family soon," the Merced County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook.
