Michelin-recognized Japanese ramen restaurant coming to Elk Grove shopping center

Kajiken is set to join chains like Costco and Nordstrom Rack at the Elk Grove shopping center 'The Ridge', according to a spokesperson.

ELK GROVE, Calif. — The Michelin Guide-recognized Japanese ramen noodle restaurant Kajiken is moving into Elk Grove's 'The Ridge' shopping center.

Located along Elk Grove Boulevard, the Costco-anchored center is also home to In-N-Out, Starbucks, Buffalo Wild Wings and other popular chains.

Three spots remain open for incoming businesses wanting to lease at the center, according to a Pappas Investments marketing brochure.

Kajiken

Pappas Investments senior vice president of leasing Kelly Rule told ABC10 they chose to lease to Kajiken because of the restaurant's popularity.

"We actually had quite a few offers for that space," she said. "Then we visited Kajiken's San Mateo location and the lines were out the door. We also liked the operator, so we decided to move forward with them."

Kajiken is set to take over the former Curry Up Now location across from Olive Garden.

Michelin Guide's Point of View described Kajiken's San Mateo location as a Japanese restaurant landing on the West Coast with the promise of shaking up your noodle routine with abura soba.

"The noodle dish is similar to ramen but eschews the broth, instead punching up the flavor courtesy of a special blend of oils and sauces," read the Michelin Guide review.
