MODESTO, Calif. — A man was arrested in connection with a fatal crash early Sunday morning in Modesto.
Around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, officers with the Modesto Police Department responded to an injury crash involving two vehicles near the 1400 block of West Hatch Road, the department said Monday on Facebook.
Police said 37-year-old Daniel Zaragoza, of Modesto, was traveling westbound on West Hatch Road, just west of Ustick Road, in a Chevrolet Traverse when he collided with a Toyota Prius parked along the north curb of West Hatch Road.
Two men were in the Prius, and the passenger died at the scene, law enforcement said.
Zaragoza allegedly fled the scene, but he was later found in the area, police said.
He was arrested and faces charges related to vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run, driving under the influence and driving while unlicensed, authorities said.
