Woman killed in crash on SR-132 in the Modesto area, CHP says

Law enforcement says a female driver of a 2001 Toyota sedan was taken to Memorial Medical Center where she died.

MODESTO, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating a deadly crash in the Modesto area.

CHP says just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday they received a call of a crash on SR-132, east of Crabtree Road. The information available right now says when first responders arrived on the scene they found two vehicles with major damage.

Law enforcement says a female driver of a 2001 Toyota sedan was taken to Memorial Medical Center where she died. The name of the victim was not released at this time.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 1995 Toyota pickup, was identified as  Billy Stilley and his passenger Jason Crum were taken to the same medical center with minor injuries.

According to CHP, the driver of the Toyota sedan was going east on SR-132 approaching a left bend in the roadway, while the driver of the pickup was going west on SR-132. For an unknown reason, the sedan driver lost control negotiating the left curve and spun and entered the westbound traffic lane directly in front of the pickup. The pickup then hit the sedan.

CHP says everyone involved was wearing their seatbelts.
