MODESTO, Calif. — The city of Modesto is remembering the life of a longtime city councilwoman who recently died.
According to the city of Modesto Facebook page, Jenny Kenoyer died Thursday. She served as the District 5 councilwoman for a decade from 2013-2022.
“She touched the lives of so many with her warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter. Jenny had an unwavering love for her family, friends, and the City of Modesto. Her memory will forever live on in our hearts,” wrote the city.
The Modesto Police Department also offered its condolences on Facebook.
“We are deeply saddened to hear of Councilwoman Jenny Kenoyer's passing. She was truly one of the best and a tremendous asset to our City,” wrote the department.
Other Facebook users offered their condolences in the comments, saying there aren’t enough words to describe her impact on the city and crediting her as being the pioneer for transit in the city.
