Elderly man drowns at Modesto Reservoir

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office says he was not wearing a life jacket.
The 22-year-old Modesto man was the second person to die at Woodward Reservoir in five weeks.

MODESTO, Calif. — An elderly man drowned at the Modesto Reservoir Saturday afternoon, according to officials. 

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office says the man's kayak capsized after having trouble on the water. They say he was not wearing a life jacket and was with another kayaker. 

Officials say deputies gave him life saving measures, but he was later pronounced dead. 

No other information is available at this time.
