Driver dies after crashing into tree in Modesto, getting ejected from car

Police said the accident happened along East Briggsmore Avenue.

MODESTO, Calif. — A person was thrown from his car after crashing into a tree in Modesto Sunday morning.

According to the Modesto Police Department, the crash happened along East Briggsmore Avenue, near Rose Avenue, around 11:30 a.m.

Police said a black 1994 Chevrolet Z28 Camaro was driving eastbound when it left the roadway and hit a tree. The driver was ejected from the car and died at the scene.

It's not clear what led up to the crash.
