MODESTO, Calif. — A homicide investigation is underway after a 20-year-old was shot and killed overnight in Modesto.
Police identified the victim as Dessery Becerra of Modesto.
Few details about the shooting are available, but police said they responded to a shooting just before midnight in the area of Larkin Avenue and Empire Avenue.
Arriving officers found Becerra with at least one gunshot wound, and authorities eventually pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
