Students return to class after false bomb threat at Modesto High School | Update

Modesto police said the school was checked and they didn't find a bomb.

MODESTO, Calif. — Update 11:30 a.m.

Students at Modesto High School returned to class around 11 a.m. Thursday after police cleared campus due to a bomb threat. Modesto police said the school was checked and they didn't find a bomb. Classes are continuing as scheduled.

A high school in Modesto was cleared Thursday as police investigate a bomb threat.

The Modesto Police Department said Modesto High School received a bomb threat and the campus is being cleared out of an "abundance of caution." It's unclear when the threat was made or its credibility.

Students won't be allowed on campus until the area is determined to be safe.
