Modesto man killed after crashing truck into tree, police say

The man, reportedly in his 50s, was driving a black Ford Ranger on Scenic Drive when it struck a tree, according to law enforcement.

MODESTO, Calif. — A man was killed Saturday in a solo vehicle crash in Modesto.

Around 7:40 p.m., the Modesto Police Department responded to a solo vehicle crash along Scenic Drive involving black Ford Ranger, according to a department Facebook post. 

Police said the pickup truck was traveling westbound on the 2200 block of Scenic Drive when it struck a tree.

The driver, an adult Modesto man in his 50s, was killed despite first responders’ life-saving efforts, according to law enforcement.
