MODESTO, Calif. — A 38-year-old woman was found with gunshot wounds in an adult bookstore Tuesday, Modesto police said.
Police got to Liberty Adult Book Store on Kansas Avenue around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday and found Cinnamon Eades lying behind the counter. She was taken to the hospital where she died of her injuries.
The Modesto Police Department's violent crimes unit took over the investigation, leading to the arrest of Favian Ramirez of Modesto.
During the investigation, detectives found out that the 20-year-old made a purchase at the book store and then shot Eades before grabbing money from the register.
Ramirez, pictured below, was driving a vehicle that belonged to a local used car dealership that he was test driving. It was through the cooperation of the used car dealership that he was identified.
Modesto detectives, SWAT and other specialized units found Ramirez leaving a home in Ceres. He took off when he spotted them, but the team was able to set up a perimeter and found him near Pleasant and Central Avenues in Ceres.
Ramirez was arrested and charged with murder and robbery. There is no bail set.
