MODESTO, Calif. — A man in a wheelchair was hit and killed while crossing the street in a marked crosswalk in Modesto.
Modesto police say this happened early Tuesday morning at Yosemite Boulevard and Santa Ana Avenue. Police say a truck traveling east on Yosemite Boulevard hit the person and remained on the scene to talk with police.
Law enforcement say the Modesto man was taken to a local hospital with major injuries but he was later pronounced dead.
