MODESTO, Calif. — A Modesto City Schools employee was arrested for trying to meet with an underage person for an alleged sexual encounter, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

On June 14, detectives staged a meetup between 63-year-old Kevin Morgan of Riverbank and an undercover detective posing as a 13-year-old child. Law enforcement said the two had been talking for about a week and planned to see each other in person at Beyer Park.

"The plan was to relocate to Morgan’s home, where the adult and child were to engage in specific acts of sexual intercourse at his home residence," law enforcement wrote in a press release. "The arrest was made without incident, and the investigation later reconvened at Morgan’s home. Personal electronic communication devices were seized for further forensic screening."

Law enforcement said Morgan was a campus supervisor with the school district at Mark Twain Junior High. Following the arrest, he was booked on three separate felony charges of sending harmful material to a minor with the intent to seduce. He currently is in custody on a $575,000 bond awaiting further court proceedings.

Law enforcement says anyone with additional information can call detectives. If it's about encounters that may have taken place at the school, reach out to the Modesto Police Department and school district administrators.
