After the parade, the Rockin' Holidays Tree Lighting will take place with "Rockin' Santa & the Rockin' elves," rockabilly musicians, food, snow and more.

Modesto's Celebration of Lights Holiday Parade

MODESTO, Calif. — The Celebration of Lights Holiday Parade in Modesto is prepped for another round of holiday cheer. The annual parade is themed "Toys, Trains and Candy Canes" this year.

"The holiday parade has become a cherished tradition in Modesto and we invite you and your families to come join us in the festivities," said Tony Amaral, recreation coordinator for the City of Modesto.

Here's what to know for the big event.

When and where is the parade?

Modesto's parade takes place Dec. 2 at 5:30 p.m. It'll start at 14th and I street and head west on I street to 10th Street, then north on 10th Street to J Street and east on J Street to 17th Street.

Rockin' Holidays Tree Lighting

In addition to the parade, there's no shortage of festivities. The Rockin' Holidays Tree Lighting will have "Rockin' Santa & the Rockin' elves," rockabilly musicians, holiday lights, food, snow and more.

The tree lighting ceremony starts after the parade.

Traffic Impacts

There will be road closures on 14th and 16th streets between I and H streets starting at 1 p.m. By 4 p.m., all road closures will be in place from 10th to 17th streets between K Street and H Street.
