MODESTO, Calif. — Students were evacuated from the classrooms of Beyer High School in Modesto due to a possible bomb threat Thursday afternoon.
According to Modesto Police Department, the evacuation was done out of an abundance of caution after officials got a bomb threat regarding a gym bag.
Deputies with the Stanislaus County Bomb Squad found the gym bag only had football gear inside it. Authorities are still investigating the initial claims of a possible bomb and are clearing out of the area soon.
All students and staff are safe.
The school notified parents about the situation and sent them instructions for early student pick-up. The pick-up area is on the west side of the student parking lot. Parents can get there via Sylvan AVenue.
