MODESTO, Calif. — California Highway Patrol in Modesto says a woman is dead after she was found in the center median on State Route 99 near Sierra Drive.
CHP says a call about a crash came in around 11:30 a.m. Friday. Once on scene, law enforcement found the woman lying in the center median against a metal guardrail and vegetation. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
CHP believes the woman was hit by a vehicle that kept driving north on SR-99.
The incident is still being investigated. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Aaron Norseen at the Modesto CHP Office at (209) 545-7440.
