National Steak and Poultry expanded a recall Monday to include 1.9 million pounds of ready-to-eat chicken, according to a news release on the USDA website.
The initial recall from November 23 was for only 17,000 pounds of product.
Ready-to-eat chicken is fully cooked and frozen for consumers to heat and serve, but the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service says that the products may have been undercooked prior to packaging.
The products under the recall were sold nationwide between August 20 through November 30 and include grilled boneless chicken breasts with rib meat, roasted chicken breast strips with rib meat, and many more varieties.
A full list of products included in the recall can be found here.
This is a class I recall, which means there is a high health risk.
At this time, there have been no confirmed reports of illness, but consumers are urged to throw the product away or return it to the store where it was purchased.
