SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A 71-year-old man died Thursday night after crashing into a pickup truck.
According to the California Highway Patrol, it happened around 10:45 p.m. on southbound Stockton Boulevard at 16th Avenue.
CHP says the driver of a 1999 Dodge pickup truck was stopped at the limit line of eastbound 16th Avenue. The driver confirmed the road was clear, drove forward and was about to make a left turn onto northbound Stockton Boulevard when a motorcyclist crashed into their driver’s side door.
The driver of the Dodge stayed at the scene while the 41-year-old motorcyclist was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
CHP says the driver of the pickup truck was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
The name of the motorcyclist hasn’t been released yet.
