PLYMOUTH, Calif. — Two people are in the hospital after a collision in Amador County Thursday afternoon.
According to CHP spokesperson Officer Cynthia White, a CHP officer tried to do a law enforcement stop on Shenandoah Road, near Dickson Road, in Plymouth when they were broadsided by another car.
White said the officer was going eastbound when they were hit on the passenger side. It's not clear if the officer was hit by the car they were trying to pull over.
It's also not clear why the officer was trying to do the enforcement stop.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
White said the officer and the other person were flown to a hospital with moderate injuries.
