Arrest made in overnight Natomas shooting | Update

The shooting was reported near the 1600 block of Scarlet Ash Avenue just after 11:00 p.m.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Update: The Sacramento Police Department announced they have arrested 32-year-old Tevin Lewis on homicide-related charges in connection to the overnight shooting in North Natomas. Officials say he was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.

A woman was killed in an overnight shooting near North Natomas Monday night.

Sacramento Police officers responded near the 1600 block of Scarlet Ash Avenue, where they found a woman shot just after 11:00 p.m

Officials said she was taken to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Police have launched a homicide investigation. No information on suspects is available at this time. 

The Sacramento County Coroner's Office will release the woman’s name once her next of kin has been notified.
