Northern Calif. fugitive murder suspect arrested in Peru

The FBI says Nazira Maria Cross fled after allegedly poisoning her ex-husband in Plumas County and then burying him at their Nevada ranch.

A woman wanted by federal authorities for the murder of her ex-husband in Northern California nearly six years ago has been arrested in Peru.

The FBI said 48-year-old Nazira Maria Cross fled after allegedly poisoning Mike Cross in Plumas County in July 2008 and driving him to the Reno area where she buried him on a ranch they owned. The suspect disappeared while investigators were awaiting autopsy results on Cross.

Authorities said new information about Nazira Cross' whereabouts came in after the case was re-publicized by media recently.

Authorities Intend to extradite Cross back to the United States to be tried for her alleged crimes.
