SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Yelp’s ‘Top 100 Places to Eat’ 2024 list is out and California is well-represented, but you won’t have to drive very far to check out three of the locations.

Clocking in at #18 is Guy’s for Lunch in Roseville. The list raves about the restaurant’s secret to succulent chicken salad and pulled pork (hint: it’s sous vide).

The standout sandwich is the Life Changer and there are three versions of it: regular with apple, celery and onion; a foodie version with salami, Swiss cheese, pepperoncini and spicy mustard; and ‘over-the-top’ with jalapeno sauce, spicy mustard and bacon.

Up next at #24 is Zest Mediterranean Cuisine in Folsom located in the same shopping center as the Walmart on Riley Street. Don’t be put off by the restaurant’s strip mall location, the food is delicious.

The gyros are piled high with meat and you’ll definitely need a few napkins. Try the baklava after!

And at #34 is Pizzeria Luba in Auburn. Reviewers say their sourdough-crust pizzas make the eatery a necessary stop on the way up to Lake Tahoe.

Owner Corey Belanger told Yelp the Foggy Dew Mushroom pizza with its oyster mushrooms, combination of mozzarella and fontina cheese, and caramelized onions has a cult following.

Pizzeria Luba is also a byproduct of the COVID-19 pandemic when Belanger and his wife started making to-go pizzas in the backyard and by 2021 they were running a restaurant.
