Man dies after Highway 70 crash in Yuba County

YUBA COUNTY, Calif. — A man died Sunday after a single-vehicle crash in Yuba County.

The California Highway Patrol said a crash happened around 11:45 p.m. along southbound Highway 70 south of Feather River Boulevard. 

The driver died at the scene. The California Highway Patrol said witnesses reported seeing the vehicle drift off the road, go through a barbed wire fence and collide into the canal. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

The driver's name wasn't released, but he was identified as a 44-year-old man from Olivehurst. 

The crash is under investigation.
