Air Force officials have confirmed one pilot has died and another has been injured following a plane crash in Sutter County.
The Air Force U-2 Dragon Lady, based out of Beale Air Force Base in Marysville, crashed shortly after takeoff just after 9 a.m. Tuesday near Sutter Buttes, according to officials.
The jet was assigned to 1st Reconnaissance Squadron. The two pilots onboard were part of a training exercise, but ejected from the jet for reasons unknown at this time.

Beale AFB is located eight miles east of Marysville.
