Palisades Tahoe worker dies after snowmobile crash

CHP said a 25-year-old man was found near rocks Thursday morning.

CALIFORNIA, USA — A Palisades Tahoe worker died after a snowmobile accident Thursday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.

CHP responded around 7:30 a.m. to reports of a crash. CHP said a man was found near rocks around 6:30 a.m., though he was last seen around 5:30 a.m. The victim was identified as 34-year-old Brian Gimbert of Tahoma.

The man was taken to a hospital where he later died. 

OSHA is investigating the crash.

Palisades Tahoe sent the following statement to ABC10: 

"At some time in the early morning hours of November 9, an incident occurred at Alpine that resulted in the death of one of our team members while our crews were performing overnight snowmaking operations. We are cooperating with local authorities and no further details are available at this time. Our most heartfelt condolences go out to family, friends and co-workers of this valued team member."
