Boyfriend of missing Kings Beach woman arrested in Portola

Clifford is a person of interest in her disappearance as well as a homicide in Reno.

PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — The boyfriend of a missing Kings Beach woman, who is both a person of interest in her disappearance and a recent Reno homicide, is now in custody.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office released more information Wednesday in its search for Patricia Portella-Wright.

According to investigators, she may have been last seen with her boyfriend, 55-year-old Brent Clifford of Kings Beach.

According to the Reno Police Department, Clifford is a person of interest in a homicide that happened in Reno over the weekend.

Reno police say Clifford was captured around 4 p.m. in Portola along with a red 2003 Chevrolet Blazer belonging to the Reno homicide victim. Portella-Wright was not with him at the time of his arrest. He was arrested and is being held on a warrant for an unrelated crime.

She is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs around 125 pounds. She has blonde hair and brown eyes.

Her friend and employer, Lisa Eadington, said she reported Portella-Wright missing on Aug. 9 when she didn't show up for work.

Eadington said Portella-Wright's friends and family are very worried about her.

"She is loved by her family and her friends and missed terribly, not only by all of us, but all of our customers in our gallery. We’ve been reaching out with worry and concern," Eadington said.
