Rancho Cordova business owner kills burglary suspect, deputies say

Sacramento County sheriff's deputies say the business owner shot and killed the burglar as he was making his way back to the living space of the business.

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a business owner reportedly shot and killed a burglary suspect overnight.

According to Sgt. Amar Gandhi with the sheriff’s office, it happened around 2 a.m. Sunday along the 10000 block of Folsom Boulevard in Rancho Cordova.

Gandhi says a burglar made their way into the business while the owner was in the back in a living space. As the alleged burglar approached the living space, the shop owner shot him.

The alleged burglar made his way to the parking lot, collapsed and died.

No arrests have been made at this time. The shooting is under investigation.
