RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — An El Dorado Hills-based telemedicine company opens Thursday a physical telepharmacy kiosk in Rancho Cordova.
MEDnRX’s first physical location offers virtual medical consultations and on-site pharmacy services at the Asian grocery store SF Supermarket at 2738 Sunrise Blvd., according to a news release by the Greater Sacramento Economic Council.
Dr. Steven Gest and Vaibhav Shah founded MEDnRX to provide health care to those who may have limited options or be uninsured, the company said.
“With the help of technology, our goal is to make healthcare more accessible and more affordable,” Shah said. “We are constantly innovating to improve the way people access care, ensuring that convenience and cost-effectiveness are prioritized.”
It can work in three different ways, according to MEDnRX:
- See a medical provider at the MEDnRX kiosk, get prescribed medication and grab it from the drop box.
- See a medical provider through the MEDnRX app, using the app select a pick-up location for any prescribed medication and pick up your medication.
- Connect online immediately with a doctor on the MEDnRX app, choose home delivery for prescribed medications and they will be shipped to you.
The launch of MEDnRX’s kiosk in Rancho Cordova is expected to create several jobs across pharmacy management and telemedicine services and stimulate the greater Sacramento economy, according to the economic council.
“This innovative telemedicine kiosk at SF Market exemplifies the kind of accessible healthcare solutions that can make a real difference in our underserved communities,” said Cathy Rodriguez Aguirre, president and CEO of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SACHCC). “MEDnRX’s commitment to breaking down barriers to care aligns with our mission to uplift the health and well-being of all residents in the greater Sacramento region, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive.”
MEDnRX reportedly offers timely primary and urgent care for both acute and chronic conditions.
