Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies say a mother's gray Acura was stolen with her baby inside on the 3000 block of Laurelhurst.

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — A mother's vehicle was stolen on the 3000 block of Laurelhurst with her 1-year-old baby inside, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.

After loading her baby inside her gray Acura, the mother went back inside to get her other child when she saw her car was gone.

Officials say the baby was "dumped" from the car and found unharmed on a curb around 12:45 p.m. Friday. The car was found on Coloma Road and McGregor Drive.

The man who allegedly stole the car, identified as Aron Lemus, was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping at a gas station some 30 minutes after a short police chase.

Sheriff's deputies are still investigating the incident.
