RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — A man is dead after he was hit by a car in Rancho Cordova, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
Officials said the collision happened just after 6:10 p.m. in the area of Folsom Boulevard and Mine Shaft Drive. A spokesperson for the sheriff's office initially said the man had serious injuries, but in an update, deputies confirmed the collision was fatal.
Few details surrounding the collision are available at this time, but the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said westbound Folsom Boulevard is closed at Mineshaft for the investigation.
Officials said the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
