SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man who was swept underwater while rafting Saturday and later found Sunday has been identified.
According to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office, he was 34-year-old Zongchar Moua.
The search for Moua began around 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Fire officials say he was rafting down the river with a large party near Clay Banks when he was swept underwater without a life jacket and didn’t resurface.
After more than two hours of searching, officials switched the search to a recovery not expecting to find Moua alive.
First responders later found his body Sunday.
