Pottery World in Rocklin celebrates 50th anniversary

The 50th anniversary celebration is happening Saturday and Sunday with a 20% sale storewide.

ROCKLIN, Calif. — Pottery World in Rocklin is celebrating its 50th anniversary this weekend.

The business started in 1974 when Jim and Sharon Rodda opened a shop at Denio's in Roseville, according to Pottery World's website.

Fast forward to 2000 when Rodda opened a second location in Rocklin spanning 30,000 square feet on three acres. It's located at 4419 Granite Drive. The latest addition to Pottery World is the café, which serves breakfast and lunch.

"As we celebrate our Golden Anniversary, we invite you to join us in honoring 50 years of passion, resilience and community spirit that began with Jim and Sharon's simple stall at a flea market," Pottery World wrote in an Instagram post.

The 50th anniversary celebration is happening Saturday and Sunday. There will be entertainment as well as sales for shoppers. Here's what's planned.

Saturday, June 29

There is a political recognition ceremony from 10-11 a.m. featuring Congressman Kevin Kiley, Senator Roger Niello, Assembly Member Joe Patterson and MC Rocklin Council Member Dave Bass.

Live music will also be happening at the store including Skyler's Pool with Kitty O'Neal from 11 a.m. to noon and 12:30 -1:30 p.m. Marie AnDUETte will perform from 2-4:30 p.m.

There will be party bars serving beer, wine, champagne, bloody marys and mimosas. The Pottery World Café will have specials. Storewide there will be a 20% off sale.

Sunday, June 30

The festivities continue Sunday with Marie AnDUETte performing from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The party bar and café specials will continue on Sunday. 

Storewide there will be a 20% off sale.
