Plans for Fleming's Prime Steakhouse near Roseville Galleria move forward

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar is proposed along Galleria Boulevard. It's the location of a former Pier 1 Imports.

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — The Roseville Planning Commission approved a Major Project Permit Stage 2 for site development and architectural review for a new restaurant near Westfield Galleria at a Thursday meeting.

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar is proposed at 1101 Galleria Boulevard. It's the location of a former Pier 1 Imports. The building will be demolished to construct the new restaurant.

The proposed restaurant would be 8,110-square-feet and would include landscaping and a small parking lot reconfiguration, according to a planning division staff report.

Terry Womack with Go2Permitting, representing the applicant, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, spoke at the meeting.

"We're really excited to be here, really excited to introduce the Fleming's brand to your community. For those of you who aren't familiar with the Fleming's brand, they're an upscale steakhouse with fine dining services. They offer prime steaks, seafood, a list of over 100 different wines to choose from. They really bring in the energy and sophistication that you look for when you go out to a really nice steakhouse," Womack said.

The planning commission also approved a tree permit to remove a total of six trees, including one protected oak tree, according to a staff report.

Eric Singer, an associate planner with the city of Roseville, said at the Thursday meeting that the applicant will mitigate the removal by replanting trees and paying an in-lieu fee.

Elizabeth Daly, the director of media and community relations for Bloomin Brands, which owns Fleming's said they were interested in the area but didn't have anything else to share beyond what's in public record.
