Three new parks planned in Roseville and you could choose their names

Roseville is targeting a spring 2025 groundbreaking with completion set for spring 2026.

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — Three new parks were recently approved in Roseville and now they all need names. The parks are located in and near Roseville's Westpark neighborhood.

Pam Allen, a spokesperson for the city of Roseville, said the parks are in the design process. The city is targeting a spring 2025 groundbreaking with completion set for spring 2026.

The first park is planned for the Creekview area by Winding Creek Roseville and will be 2.5 acres. It's set to feature a half basketball court, children's play and swing area, picnic areas, walkways, turf and landscaping.

Another park will be located in the Sierra Vista Specific Plan area on Sierra Village Drive. It's set to be 7.6 acres and will be near a future elementary school. It's set to feature a youth cricket/multi-use field, children's play area, picnic area, full-sized basketball court, off-street parking, looped pathway, nature play area and landscaping.

The third park is also set in the Sierra Vista Specific Plan area on the corner of Earl Rush Drive and Market Street. It's set to be 1.1 acres and will feature a small turf area, picnic pavilion, trees and natural trails.

"The naming of Roseville parks is a meaningful tradition that reflects the values, history and spirit of our community. Parks serve as vital spaces for recreation, relaxation and connection, and the names we choose help to honor our local heritage and the contributions of our residents," Allen told ABC10. "This year, as we invite the community to participate in naming three new parks, we are excited to celebrate these future spaces and the role they will play in creating lifelong memories for all who enjoy them."

If someone suggests the park be named after a person, on the submission form they should include the number of years they lived in Roseville, the year they died and explain the person's contributions to Roseville through volunteer service.
