CALIFORNIA, USA — Roseville and Sacramento Express stores are set to stay open amid dozens of planned store closings across the U.S.
Express filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Monday and intends to close 95 of its more than 500 stores. It will close all of its UpWest stores.
There are 48 Express Stores in California, 16 of which are being affected by the closings.
Closing sales at the impacted locations are set to begin Tuesday.
Express said in the filing it expects to "conduct business as usual" beyond the closings.
“Express has a strong portfolio of brands and a premier omnichannel platform. Our top priority remains providing our customers with the contemporary styles and value they expect from us. We thank our associates for their continued hard work and commitment, and we appreciate the ongoing support of our vendors, suppliers and business partners.” said Stewart Glendinning, Chief Executive Officer, in a statement.
According to Express, merchandise return policies are the same, and gift cards and store credits are currently being redeemed in-store.
