ROSEVILLE, Calif. — Placer County has broken ground on a new affordable housing development.
The new development is called Parkside at Sabre City. Its creation was led by Bonnie Gore, county supervisor for District 1.
“Having affordable housing really revitalizes a local neighborhood,” Gore said. “When we have new families and new members who can live and work in their own communities, it makes all the difference for a family."
Parkside at Sabre City will have 44 new housing units. It will be comprised of manufactured homes. According to a press release, each lot will feature a primary aunty and an accessory dwelling unit (ADU).
Development for the new community is being spearheaded by Housing Trust Placer, a public-private partnership formed to address the housing issue.
“We’re really excited to have the opportunity to work with the community to be able to see this happen,” said Robyn Van Ekelenburg, CEO of Housing Trust Placer
Van Ekelenburg says the project should be completed within a year.
Anyone interested in the affordable housing development is encouraged to email info@housingtrustplacer.org or visit Housing Trust Placer.
