CPS Documents: Roseville caregiver failed to provide adequate supervision for twins who drowned

Police seized the foster parent's cell phone. She obtained an attorney and is now no longer talking to law enforcement.

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — More details have been revealed surrounding the drowning deaths of two young boys in Roseville back in October.

More than 60 pages of documents have been released from Child Protective Services, however many pages of the documents have been redacted.

The case dates back to Oct. 9. First responders arrived around 11:22 a.m. to the area of Waterford Glen Circle after the two boys were found unresponsive. Both were taken to the hospital, but they did not survive, according to Roseville police.

The new documents reveal the two boys were two-year-old twins in foster care at the time. It appears they had just been placed in the caretaker's home back in January.

The documents said it was reported that the foster caregiver failed to provide adequate supervision for two twins resulting in the children drowning in the home pool. The caregiver said that she looked away for five minutes and then found them in the pool. She called 911 and started CPR. Two other children were at school at the time. No other adults were in the home.

Later in the documents, law enforcement allegedly observed a Mike's Hard Lemonade alcoholic drink on the counter. It's not clear who the drink belonged to, but police said the foster parent was the only adult listed in the home.

There is a ring camera, but the documents said the foster parent would not give the video to law enforcement. Police seized the foster parent's cell phone. She obtained an attorney and is now no longer talking to law enforcement.
