ROSEVILLE, Calif. — A teenager was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of making false threats toward a middle school in Roseville.
There was a threat made Tuesday by a 13-year-old boy against Silverado Middle School in Roseville, but it wasn't credible, according to the Roseville Police Department.
Roseville police said a separate student created fake social media accounts to spread false threats and create fear. The 13-year-old was arrested Wednesday and will be booked into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of making terrorist threats.
The name of the 13-year-old hasn't been released since he is a minor.
"It’s crucial to emphasize that all threats will be taken seriously by our district, even if made in a joking manner, and appropriate safety measures and disciplinary action will be taken," the Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District said in a Facebook post. "We encourage families to discuss with their students the importance of following school rules and the seriousness of making any type of threat."
